1.
The Winged Fist The angel bleeds. Her sapphire eyes burn with a love for all time thrown into the wind. The angel bleeds. A wound remembered, forgotten sympathies burning all around. The dust of ages knocked from the shoulders, by a winged fist flying swiftly through the air. Tearing skin from beneath the shattered fingernails. A broken halo, a broken hand, a broken promise, a broken life. The angel bleeds. The rage becoming evident, no moral decision to let the problem pass. Stretch the skeleton with hammered falling blows. And knock the air from the lungs that breathed the breath you once thought was your own. The time has come to rock. The time has come to roll. The time has come to fight. It's time to take control.

KittyPurr 03:18
KittyPurr I can see better in the dark when I close my eyes. . . To taste of candy thunder and devour midnight skies Beneath the sins of history written out in a parent's hand That thrusts the inkwell's majesty to blacken distant lands. When the nightmares in your dreamcatcher can't burn off in the day Because the sun won't shine down through all the clouds and rain You will find that all you need to sleep the night in quiet bliss Is your lover's welcome embrace and a waking morning kiss. I can see better in the dark when I close my eyes. . . To hear her sweet voice whisper to me "wait until sunrise." When we'll wish away the hands of those that seek to pierce our love And cast off the doubts that others place on something they know nothing of. When you've lost it all, there's nothing left to lose You have everything to gain, all you have to do is choose. To find our happiness we are cast out from our homes But wherever we may journey we will never be alone. The sleeping trees reach out for dreams As they become the bare arms of winter Which climb into the cold night skies to Brush the ceiling of haze away so that The radiance of the stars may cascade Down upon us as we kiss goodnight. As we kiss goodnight, it is goodbye. A goodbye to youth, a goodbye to pain, a goodbye to everything.

October 05:14
October In the fall, lose it all, burn this sacred heart With a Christ-like lost display of sacrifice to impart. Every cell and mortal thirst are screaming out for trust. To taste the soft displacing gifts of carnal bleeding lust. Two crying bodies tangled in a tragic bliss Disolve into one another with each vapor poison kiss. In tune with each bruising note that starts the measures’ sound With a trembling, gasping breath that walks within lovers crashing down. And so to learn in life's short time, that the shimmering seas inside our eyes Drift out slowly with whispering undertow, that holds us quietly underneath our stories told. Will there ever be a word or thought that I could say sweetheart Without you knowing what was coming next before I even start? I feel as though I'm made of glass, I'm hollow, torn, and dying While everything I'd ever need destroys me from inside.

about

Full disclosure, yes, it is a bit bizarre to revisit an unfinished batch of songs from almost 20 years ago. As PJ and I discussed the probability of completing and finally releasing everything, the idea of bringing a degree of closure to this chapter of Angels vs Aliens began to intrigue us. From the days of 8-track analog recording in the basement, to the age of digital file sharing, it’s become easier to work at leisure over great distance. These songs were intended for a follow-up to Eleven Shades of Crimson, an album that was assembled before we had gelled as a band “proper,” and became live staples during a period where we were finding our collective voice. At the time, we had completed three heavier songs and three oddball songs, which we didn’t feel would make for a cohesive album. A period of writing together as a band would be needed if we were to finish, however, that time wouldn’t come for AvsA. Everyone decided that it was time to move on to other projects, and the original demos were relegated to a box that would move from house to house. Through his tireless archiving, PJ was able to transfer everything to digital, ensuring that the demos would live on in iPods and playlists that would pop-up from time to time. During one of our “what if” discussions, we decided to finally finish the project in a proper way.

“Thank you very much, we were Angels VS Aliens. Have a good life.”
